Our flagship project · Jersey Drive 2026

A new jersey says: someone is with you.

The Jersey Project provides warm, new school jerseys to children in need — learners at more than 30 schools in Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands. A jersey costs about R50, and the entire annual subscription of every member goes to jerseys.

The record

Every winter since 2007, counted.

54,018 jerseys in nineteen winters. For our 20th year we are aiming for the biggest drive yet: 10,000 jerseys in 2026. The dashed row is the one you can help us knit.

Beyond the jerseys

The drive has grown with us.

Jerseys remain the heart of the project, but over two decades our members’ support has reached further:

Schools

In the classroom

School uniforms for underprivileged children, education bursaries for deserving learners, and soccer and netball kits for primary schools.

Families

In the home

Food hampers for families in need, and blankets donated to Pietermaritzburg Child Welfare and to families in the Willowfontein area.

Community

Alongside others

Support for organisations doing kindred work, including donations to Gods Glory for their annual feeding scheme.

The 2026 target

10,000 jerseys. Help us knit the last row.
